Funding Opportunities

The DC CFAR provides funding in support of investigators' HIV/AIDS research through several opportunities. Currently, please see the various programs the DC CFAR offers below:

  • The Traditional Pilot Awards Program is the signature activity of the DC CFAR and provides up to $75,000 in pilot research funds to early stage and new HIV/AIDS investigators to collect preliminary data that will help them compete for NIH funding in HIV/AIDS as Principal Investigators. There are typically two rounds of these awards each year in the fall and spring semesters.
  • The Developmental Funding Opportunities Program (formerly microgrants) provides grant funding on a competitive basis to cover the costs of core services,  new data collection, publications, poster printing, and travel.
