Benchside to Community Series Recordings

February 2024

On February 29, 2024, the DC CFAR Developmental Core held a virtual "Benchside to Community" seminar featuring a presentation by DC CFAR Investigator, Dr. Lee Campbell on "Genetic cures for HIV: the CRISPR/Cas9 system", a community response by CPC member, Mr. Kenya Hutton, and a discussion moderated by CDEIPI scholar, Ms. Morgan Scott.

 

October 2022

On October 21, 2022 the DC CFAR Developmental Core hosted the Benchside to Community Virtual Seminar: Episode 2 "HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorders: A Brain Imaging Guided Treatment". The seminar included a presentation by Dr. Xiong Jiang, Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Georgetown University, followed by a Q&A and discussion with Mr. Moisés Agosto-Rosario, Director of Treatment at NMAC and DC CFAR Community Co-Lead of the Aging and Comorbidities SIG, and Ms. Samia Abdallah, an undergraduate student and DC CFAR CDEIPI Scholar at George Washington University.

May 2021

On May 17, 2021 the DC CFAR Developmental Core hosted the Benchside to Community Virtual Seminar: Episode 1 Pathway to a Cure. The seminar included a presentation by Dr. Alberto Bosque, Co-Director of the Basic Sciences Core, followed by a Q&A and discussion with Mr. Riko Boone, HIV Cure SWG Community Lead, and Ms. Janiya Brooks, an undergraduate student from Howard University.
