Clinical Services

The clinical services of the Clinical and Population Sciences Core provide a variety of support to facilitate clinical and translational research.

Available Services

  • Consultation and training on clinical research topics
  • Consultation on human subjects issues
  • Support in protocol development
  • Patient recruitment and referral tools and support
  • Access to specimen banks
  • Connectivity to collaborators

The Core facilitates engagement with NIH-funded multicenter trials networks and the DC Cohort. These resources offer access to clinical specimens, patient populations and extensive secondary datasets for research exploration. These centers include: 

  • HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN)
  • Women’s Interagency HIV Study (WIHS)
  • Adolescent Trials Network (ATN)
  • DC Cohort

The Core facilitates access to a variety of biological specimens from various network studies in addition to assisting in the collection of new specimens through HIV clinics at collaborating DC CFAR institutions that are needed to address specific research questions.
