Administrative Core

The Administrative Core is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the DC CFAR in support of its mission to end the HIV epidemic and improve the health and quality of life of persons with HIV in Washington, DC and beyond in partnership with community and government. Led by the DC CFAR Director, two senior Co-Directors and the Administrative Director, the Administrative Core promotes and supports collaborative HIV science for 260 investigator members at nine partner institutions. The Core staff includes a Center Associate who provides overall technical and communications support; a Core Manager who supports the Developmental Core and three Scientific Cores; a Community Coordinator who serves as a liaison between DC CFAR investigators and the DC HIV community; and a fiscal management team that oversees the DC CFAR budget and multiple subcontract

Specific Aims

  • Aim 1: Provide leadership and governance of the DC CFAR 
  • Aim 2: Advance multidisciplinary HIV science across DC CFAR institutions
  • Aim 3: Provide managerial oversight of the DC CFAR budget and tracking systems
  • Aim 4: Drive effective communication and collaboration with DC CFAR investigators, community and government partners, the national CFAR network, and the NIH
