Training Initiatives

CFAR Adelante
The CFAR Adelante Program Research Capacity Program works to advance HIV research in Latinx communities by providing mentored development to early stage and new investigators.
CFAR Pathway Programs
The DC CFAR Pathways Program provides HIV research training and mentorship opportunities for local high school and undergraduate scholars with an emphasis on the inclusion of groups underrepresented in HIV science. The program includes high school students from DC, Maryland and Virginia and undergraduate students from Howard, George Washington, Georgetown and American Universities.
Mid-Atalantic CFAR Consortium (MACC)
The Mid Atlantic CFAR Consortium (MACC) is a collaboration between the John Hopkins University, DC and Penn CFARS. The Consortium works on manuscripts and joint funding applications in relation to the HIV epidemic among black MSM, and in particular young black MSM, in Baltimore, Philadelphia and Washington, DC
NIH-HIV Training Grants
The DC CFAR supports three T32 pre- and postdoctoral training grants to help develop the next generation of HIV researchers. In addition to our T32 programs, the DC CFAR also supports one NIH R25 Research Education Program.
