DC CFAR member, Amanda Castel, MD, MPH, has published an article co-authored by several DC CFAR investigators from the Department of Health, George Washington, Children's National Medical Center and Georgetown University in AIDS Care entitled, "Disparities in achieving and sustaining viral suppression among a large cohort of HIV-infected persons in care - Washington, DC".
The article discusses the use of the DC Cohort data to identify disparities in achieving and sustaining viral suppression in an urban setting. Differences were found with regard to patient age, race, HIV transmission risk, and co-morbid conditions.
