DC CFAR Participates in 2019 Inter-CFAR Women and HIV Symposium

The Inter-CFAR Women and HIV Symposium was held in Chicago on October 21-22, 2019. DC CFAR Investigators, Dr. Matthew Levy (GW), Dr. Rachel Scott (GU), and Dr. Seble Kassaye (GU) participated in the symposium which focused on identifying gaps in knowledge in HIV Women's research and generating collaboration among CFARs and other research networks. 
 
Dr. Levy presented a poster entitled "Psychosocial Stress, Depression, and Atherosclerosis in the Women's Interagency HIV Study" which was based on his DC CFAR Pilot Award. Dr. Levy was also invited to present his research at the annual meeting for the MACS/WIHS Combined Cohort Study (MWCCS).
 
Dr. Scott presented a poster entitled "Awareness, acceptability, and intention to initiate HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) among pregnant women in a high prevalence community". Her presentation highlighted the importance of additional PrEP and HIV prevention education in this population.

Dr. Kassaye, in her capacity as PI of the MWCCS, supported four poster presentations on which she was a co-author.
