The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) selected ten science news highlights from 2019 that demonstrated this year's advances and progress in scientific research. This included the CFAR/ARC Ending the HIV Epidemic Supplement Awards, which are one-year awards to support pilot and formative studies. Sixty-five awards were made to 17 CFARs including the DC CFAR. Drs. Rupali Doshi (GW/DC Health), Adam Allston (DC Health), Brittani Saafir-Callaway (DC Health), Sarah Henn (WWH) and Carlos Rodriguez-Diaz (GW) were among those selected for funding.
