DC CFAR Basic Sciences Core Associate Director, Dr. Alberto Bosque (GW) and his laboratory fellow Ms. Indra Sarabia (GW) published an article in Viruses in December 2019 entitled "HIV-1 Latency and Latency Reversal: Does Subtype Matter?"

The authors conducted a literature review to evaluate if the subtype of HIV-1 influences different responses including latency and latency reversal. This review underscores the current understanding of the factors that influence HIV-1 latency in all viral subtypes, which is essential to the development of global therapeutic strategies.
