Formed in May 2014, the MACC is an inter-CFAR consortium comprised of the Johns Hopkins University, University of Pennsylvania and DC CFARs. Collectively, the MACC has supported the MACC scholars program and regional HIV research.

The first publication entitled, "Increasing Diversity and Capacity in HIV Behavioral and Social Science Research: Reflections and Recommendations From the Inaugural Cohort of the Mid-Atlantic CFAR Consortium (MACC) Scholars Program" describes the MACC scholars program, an initiative created to promote diversity among HIV researchers in Mid Atlantic region and to promote diversity in research study participants.

The second publication entitled, "The Mid-Atlantic Center for AIDS Research Consortium Scholars Program: A Multi-Institutional Approach to Mentoring the Next Generation of Underrepresented Scientists" looks at a new model for an inter-CFAR program designed to support underrepresented scientists.
