December 2, 2015

Drs. Magnus and Jiang
DC CFAR Investigators, Manya Magnus, PhD, MPH and Xiong Jiang, PhD along with their colleagues from George Washington and Georgetown Universities, recently published an article in AIDS Care entitled, "Behavioral and neuroimaging evidence for impaired executive function in "cognitively normal" older HIV-infected adults".

The article stems from the findings of the Dr. Magnus' DC D-CFAR pilot award "HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders and cognitive control among HIV-infected older adults: a pilot study using MRI among a high risk, community-based sample in DC", and stresses importance of improving the understanding of underlying causes of HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND) in adults under the age of 50.
