On Wednesday, May 4th, the DC CFAR Basic Sciences Core (BSC) hosted its annual Providers' Day at Howard University. The annual meeting was an opportunity for the BSC service providers to come together and present their services to the DC CFAR community.  The event included a short presentation by each of the providers about their services and projects they have supported through the BSC. Dr. Craig Hendrix, the Director of the Clinical Laboratory and Biomarkers Core at Johns Hopkins CFAR presented a talk entitled, "Johns Hopkins CFAR Laboratory Core & Clinical Pharmacology: Lessons of Microbicide Development" where he shared details about the structure and functioning of the CFAR at Johns Hopkins University, along with an overview of the scientific research supported by the CFAR.

Moderated by the BSC Co-Director Dr. Sergei Nekhai, the event was characterized by many constructive technical presentations and discussions, followed by lunch in a friendly atmosphere. The BSC Leadership would like to thank all presenters and attendees for their valuable participation, and to encourage all DC CFAR members to attend similar future exciting events!
