Dr. Ali Rahnavard is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at George Washington University, specializing in AI and machine learning applications for omics data analysis in public health and biomedical research. His research focuses on developing computational methods for integrating and analyzing multi-omics data, including metagenomics and metabolomics, to uncover insights into health and disease. His work has been supported by the NSF, NIH, Amazon AWS, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. Rahnavard collaborates with academic and industry partners to advance health data science and has led workshops on omics data analysis, bridging computational biology with public health and clinical applications.
Current HIV/AIDS-Related Research Activities:
- Develop methods to integrate and analyze multi-omics data, including metagenomics and metabolomics, to study HIV/AIDS-related health outcomes.
- Investigate the role of the human microbiome and metabolite biomarkers in adolescent contraceptive use and their implications for HIV risk and prevention.
