DC CFAR Investigator, Dr. Thespina (Nina) Yamanis (AU) presented her work at the National Institute of Health (NIH) Fogarty International Center's Adolescent HIV Prevention and Treatment Implementation Science Alliance (AHISA) forum in Cape Town, South Africa on February 6. Dr. Yamanis's work focuses on engaging out of school adolescent girls in Tanzania in HIV prevention.
AHISA aims to extend the reach and impact of implementation science for the prevention and treatment of HIV among adolescents living in sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, the alliance provides an opportunity to promote collaborations among participants and the use of research in policy making.
