DC CFAR members, Manya Magnus, PhD, MPH, and Amanda Castel, MD, MPH have published an article in AIDS and Behavior entitled, "Breaking Down the Siloes: Developing Effective Multidisciplinary HIV Research Teams".
The article discusses the importance of developing divers, cross-cutting research teams, which has found to be key to engaging and retaining participants in population-based studies. Specific methods for creating such teams to conduct research with optimal public health impact are proposed.
