DC CFAR investigators, Drs. Matt Levy (GW), Irene Kuo (GW) and Manya Magnus (GW), along with Dr. Gregory Phillips II (Northwestern University) and colleagues published an article in Archives of Sexual Behavior January 2020 entitled "Changes in Sexual and Gender Identity and Their Associations with Internalized Homophobia Among Black Men Who Have Sex with Men in the HPTN 061 BROTHERS Cohort".

The article describes how sexual and gender identity changed in a cohort of black men who have sex with men over time. Additionally, the study looks at the role of internalized homophobia in identity change. These results serve as guides for ongoing research regarding gender identity.
