Grant Writing Workshop for DC CFAR Junior Faculty & Early Stage Investigators

May 4, 2017

We are pleased to announce that Howard University will host the University of Kentucky Faculty Grant Writing Workshop on May 17 and 18, 2017 with one-on-one grant consultations on May 19, 2017. The two-day workshop runs from 9:00am - 4:30pm on May 17 and 18 (lunch will be provided) and the individual consultations from 9:00am - 11:30am on May 19.

The DC CFAR Developmental Core has secured a limited number of spaces for DC CFAR members who are not faculty at Howard University. You are eligible to attend if you are:

  • junior faculty or an early stage investigator;
  • available to attend both days of the workshop;
  • seeking to acquire the techniques to research and draft winning NIH grant proposals; and
  • looking to polish existing skills and receive updates about NIH funding trends.

This two-day focused workshop addresses key issues to assist researchers preparing NIH grant applications. Topics include the two-step NIH peer review system, the mechanisms of the pre-award grants process, requirements for research compliance and rigor and reproducibility in research, and the resources for study section and funded project information.

This workshop is sponsored by an NIGMS grant to the University of Kentucky, The Office of the Provost at Howard University and the DC CFAR. If interested, please contact the DC CFAR Developmental Core Services Provider, Dr. Mark Burke, at [email protected]. Because there are a limited number of spaces for DC CFAR members at partner institutions, registration will be granted to eligible investigators on a first-come, first-served basis.

Thank you - we look forward to your participation!
