We are pleased to announce that DC CFAR member, Dr. Thespina (Nina) Yamanis, was recently promoted to the rank of Associate Professor with tenure at the School of International Service, American University. Dr. Yamanis, a recipient of a 2013 DC CFAR pilot award, entitled "Social Context of Risk, Identity and Service Use among Adolescent Black MSM in DC", stated that she is "grateful for the support received from the DC CFAR and La Clínica del Pueblo", and how "fortunate she feels to have received outstanding mentorship from the DC CFAR community."
