Current HIV/AIDS Research Activities:
- I am the PI of "Juntas Adelante" a Minority AIDS/HIV Research Initiative (MARI; CDC) award that aims to design and pilot test a peer-coaching intervention to promote HIV chemoprophylaxis (i.e., PrEP and PEP) among Latina transgender women in the DMV area.
- I am also the PI of a DC CFAR pilotaward to assess feasibility and acceptability of non-daily PrEP alternatives among Latina transgender women.
- In addition to my role as PI, I am a co-investigator in two studies developing measures to assess HIV-related intersectional stigma and discrimination (R21 MH121313 - PI: Bowleg; R21 MD016177-S1 - PI: Scheim).
