Clinical Research Coordinator/ Peer Facilitator, MedStar Washington Hospital Center

I am currently a Clinical Research Coordinator at Medstar Washington Hospital Center. I work on an array of studies, there are a few studies that a very rewarding. One of which are the Women's Health studies focused on HIV prevention and expecting moms who are positive living. The positive expecting mom studies focus on ways to increase adherence with moms during and after birth. I also advocate for my community by being a Peer facilitator for positive moms, which provides an encouraging support system while providing educational information regarding what to expect with newborn baby, along with increasing adherence during and after mom gives birth. The Peer Facilitators are on this encouraging journey with mom and newborn baby for up to a year. In my early twenties I have also advocated for children affect or effected by HIV by being a therapeutic camp counselor at Camp Dream Catcher for about five years. I look forward to my future advocating journey as a member of DC CFAR and SIG and the many lives I hope to impact, as I share my born positive living story as a Mother in this community.
