Current HIV/AIDS-Related Research Activities

Past Experience: Successfully implemented the core elements of the FOCUS ON YOUTH WITH IMPACT, an HIV, STD and pregnancy prevention intervention for African-American youth ages, curriculum to both teens and parents. Maintained evaluation requirements such as fidelity, sensitive to differences in culture and age, able use language appropriate to any culture and age. Obtained assent and parental consent. Kept the number that attended for each day of the meeting , attrition and the reason for dropping. Assessed the effectiveness of the training and followed up during and post training. Provided incentives in the form of snacks to make it attractive to participants. Provided formative and summative report to the sponsors of this evaluation

Current HIV/AIDS-Related Educational Activities

Teach Undergraduate and Graduate Nursing Students the pharmacology of HIV medications with emphasis on selection, efficacy and safety across the age groups.
