Julie La Orban, MPH, is the HIV services planner for the HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STD, & TB Administration (HAHSTA) at DC Health. In this role, Ms. Orban provides innovative HIV planning services across all divisions in HAHSTA to create a combined care and prevention plan. She also serves as the principal investigator of the District of Columbia’s Eligible Metropolitan Area (DC EMA) needs assessment. Prior to joining DC Health, she served as a research scientist and co-principal investigator at the George Washington University (GW) overseeing the administration, operations, and strategic direction of the multi-year Social Mission Metrics Initiative. In recent years, she has led and participated in various studies and programs of health workforce topics, including social mission, health equity, health workforce development, and health professions education. Ms. Orban is thrilled to return to her public health roots to increase access to HIV services and improve the efficiency of prevention for District residents. She is a first generation-college graduate and former refugee. Ms. Orban holds a Master of Public Health degree in maternal and child health and a certificate in health policy from GW.
