DC CFAR Investigator, Dr. Thespina (Nina) Yamanis (AU) and colleagues published an article in PLoS ONE March 2020 entitled "Results from a cluster-randomized trial to evaluate a microfinance and peer health leadership intervention to prevent HIV and intimate partner violence among social networks of Tanzanian men".
The authors engaged social networks of young men in Tanzania to determine the efficacy of a microfinance and peer health leadership intervention, in order to prevent HIV and intimate partner violence. Results demonstrated an increase in HIV testing and reduced inequitable gender norms attitudes.
