Dr. Rupali Doshi, along with her colleagues from DC Health, has published an article in AIDS Care, entitled, "Earlier diagnoses and faster treatment of HIV in the District of Columbia: HIV surveillance analysis, 2006-2016".
In this article, the authors measured the population-level impact of strategies to increase routine HIV testing, linkage to HIV care and ART initiation. The investigators found encouraging results, including a decline in median time from HIV diagnosis to viral suppression from 1,136 days to 84 days between 2006 and 2016. Women, youth ages 13-29, and men who have sex with men were more likely to have a delayed HIV diagnosis.
