DC CFAR member, Irene Kuo, PhD, has published an article co-authored by several DC CFAR investigators from the Department of Health and George Washington University, Drug and Alcohol Dependence entitled,"Willingness to use HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis among community-recruited, older people who inject drugs in Washington, DC".
The article discusses the willingness among community-recruited older people who inject drugs (PWID) to use PrEP as an effective means of preventing HIV transmission. Findings included that nearly half of the PWID reported being very willing to use PrEP if it were available at no cost.
