Akala
DC CFAR Investigator,Emmanuel Akala, RPh, PhD, along with his colleagues at Howard University, recently published an article in Libertas Academica entitled,"Antiretroviral Drugs-Loaded Nanoparticles Fabricated by Dispersion Polymerization with Potential for HIV/AIDS Treatment".

The article discusses a study that looked at nanotechnology as a platform to circumvent some of the challenges in HIV/AIDS treatment, one of which being that HIV continues to replicate in anatomical and intracellular sites where ARV drugs have restricted access.  The article stems from Dr. Akala's DC CFAR Administrative Supplement, Microvascular Targeting Drug (ARV) - Loaded Multifunctional Nanoparticles to M Cells Overlaying GALT (HIV-1 Reservoir).
