Wed, 27 April, 2022 8:00pm

Please join us for a new DC CFAR Developmental Core Lecture Series: My Path to Independence in HIV Research. Each hour-long lecture in this series will showcase prominent researchers from across the country and autobiographical accounts of their careers in HIV research, specifically their pathways to career and research independence.

Our first lecture will feature Dr. Robert C. Gallo, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Institute of Human Virology (IHV) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, recognized for his co-discovery of HIV as the cause of AIDS. Please join us as we learn what sparked his interest in HIV research and the mentors, obstacles, and resources that helped direct and shape his path to success.
