Krishna Kumar, PhD, MPharm

Professor of Bioppharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, Howard University

Current HIV/AIDS Research Activities:

  • Antiretroviral adherence, resistance, and HIV viral load
  • Novel Cellular Targets for HIV
  • Designing and synthesis of engineered molecules/amphiphilic copolymers, characterization and application of these synthesized polymers as nano carriers for anti HIV drug delivery. Development of polymeric micelles as nano carriers. Incorporating anti-HIV drugs such as Fosamprenavir, Darunavir, Amprenavir and Nelfinavir in our polymeric system either by attaching and/or encapsulating with PEG-isophthalate based amphiphilic copolymeric system.

Current HIV/AIDS Educational Activities:

  • Pharmacokinetics of Antiretrovirals in special populations
  • Development of HIV treatment strategies in India
