The DC CFAR Executive Committee is delighted to announce that the DC Department of Health (DOH) is joining the DC CFAR as an institutional partner.

The mission of the DC CFAR is to support research that will contribute to ending the HIV epidemic in DC and beyond in partnership with government and community, and thus the addition of the DC DOH is a natural outgrowth of our mission.  This partnership will enable the DC DOH to dialogue with local CFAR investigators about which research studies may be helpful to support DOH efforts to make progress towards ending the HIV epidemic in DC, and help ensure that the results of CFAR-supported research have a maximal local public health impact.

We will be working with Mr. Michael Kharfen, Senior Deputy Director of the DC DOH HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STD & TB Administration (HAHSTA) to operationalize this new partnership, and will keep our membership informed through the DC CFAR Weekly Update and website in the months ahead.
