New Publication from DC CFAR Investigators on Alternative HIV Therapeutics

DC CFAR Basic Sciences Core Associate Director, Dr. Alberto Bosque (GW) with Developmental Core Director, Dr. Michael Bukrinsky (GW) and Dr. Rachel Resop (GW) recently published an article in the PLoS Pathogens Journal August 2020 entitled "Fingolimod inhibits multiple stages of the HIV-1 life cycle".
 
The authors investigate FTY720 (Fingolimod) an FDA-approved drug used for treating MS, and its mechanisms in inhibiting HIV replication. The study looks at the drug's potential uses as a novel therapy for HIV treatment and prevention.
